Council to consider new recreation refund policy

At its meeting Tuesday, October 13, at 7 p.m. (agenda here), the Duarte City Council will consider,,,

~ A Parks and Recreation cancellation and refund policy that would take effect Dec. 7. Refund requests would generally require 14 days' notice, or five days for swim lessons. Activities costing $15 or less would be non-refundable. Approved refunds could incur a 10% fee. Trip refunds would depend on filling the vacancy from a waitlist. Memberships would remain non-refundable, with medical exceptions. City-canceled activities would receive automatic refunds. Details.

~ Paying the full amount for employees' or retirees' health coverage expenses, up to $897.63 per month for individual coverage, $1,795.30 for coverage with one family member, or $2,333.91 with two or more family members. Staff estimates this will cost the city an extra $20,000. Details.
