Vallarta Supermarkets will open its first Duarte store Oct. 21 at 1470 Mountain Ave., introducing SushiOro, the chain's new in-store sushi counter, The Shelby Report reports.
The grand opening will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live entertainment and giveaways. The first 300 customers will receive a reusable grocery bag filled with groceries. The report does not give an opening time.
The 45,839-square-foot store will offer freshly made tortillas, a bakery, meat and seafood departments, ceviche, hot prepared meals and made-to-order guacamole. SushiOro will feature hand-rolled sushi and six signature sauces. Vallarta says the store will bring 200 jobs to the community and will mark the opening with $10,000 in donations shared among five local schools and charitable organizations.
